Here in Kodiak, Alaska only about half the road system is actually paved, so just going fishing, I have to take the Ex and Boat over a mountain pass on a gravel semi-not-maintained road... So the Ex is usually more dirty than clean...
Checking out the suspension after installing the new springs!
Cant Check out the suspension with out a bit of flex...
And then when you're at the gravel pit, whats the fun if you don't see how hi it will go in 2wd? Also ended up checking my rear departure angle is my limiting factor....
Why do people say they are driving off road when they are on dirt roads?
Maybe I'm old, but way back when I had to move the dinosaurs out of the way to get places, there was a good 50/50 mix of dirt/paved roads in suburbia and less in rural.
We called them roads, and if you got off the dirt road, then you were considered 'off road'.

agreed! off-roading and mudding is only possible if there is a HIGH chance you will get stuck. if its a smooth packed path that has no adverse conditions, its still a road in my books

you may not want this much snow it got really deep and i couldnt turn around either. amazingly i didnt get stuck in the really deep stuff until i tried to turn around well before i should have
i decided to push my luck another few minutes past this but soon reversed out of there.
we were 30 minutes out since the end of the road and almost an hours drive since last cell reception as the sun was fading. one of the most fun self recoveries ive done
I've had mine on what some would call dirt roads, but in reality it was off road...when ruts get deep enough and rocks start poking their heads out and you need someone to spot you so you don't hang up, then it's not really a dirt road anymore.
Try to keep away from the wet stuff though. I need to revisit this now that I've swapped my springs out with the V/Modded B...should handle it much better than when I only had 1" of clearance before the bump stops.
With these crappy school bus tires that the dealer put on I can get stuck sitting still, of course I'm too cheap to replace tires that only have 6k on them...
