My buddy and I installed new front springs and shocks yesterday (leveling kit). On the drivers side the tit on the bottom of the spring didn't get all the way into its hole on the axle. Their is about an 1/8" gap between the bottom of the spring and the axle. Do you guys think I need to address it or will it be okay?
But before all of the manual labor that you are trying to avoid I would take some or all of the weight off the axle with a jack, loosen the u-bolts and try some mechanical agitation (Sledge Hammer).
I would want my springs sitting perfectly on that axle.
You could either open up the hole or grind the bolt down to fit.
There is a lot counting on that spring to work properly and it not sitting right is kind of a gamble in my eyes
most likely there is rust packed into the center pin hole, remove the u-bolts and lift the spring out of the way then clean the hole out and reinstall the spring. If it doesnt go in then you have another weird issue. And even after you torqued the ubolts down the spring didnt seat in fully? I would fix this ASAP
No it never seated fully. I made sure that the hole was clean.
I tried to fix it myself, got everything loose, pried, racked, whacked and hammered and still couldn't get it. We'll my cousin is the service manager at one of the local dealers and he gave me a deal on mounting my new tires and an alignment so I had the tech who alighned it take a look. He got it apart and took some measurements and found that the dowel was longer than the hole was deep. A little bit of grinder work and it's good to go.
Hopefully anyone doing a leveling kit with a front spring swap will read this and check dimensions before installing the new springs. (Although you wouldn't think it would be necessary)

Yep.. exactly what I thought. Had to do it to mine so figured it's what you had going on too.
