Is the 3/4" nut missing or loose on the back side?

Unplug it, take the nut off, pull the spacer off, then the coil off. The black part should be fixed in the brass colored sleeve with no movement.

The black electrical connector is attached to the bronze colored coil and will rotate about the shaft of the main ICP. Just make sure the nut is snugged up.

Yes, the black connector is supposed to have some play.

hi

hmm..confused.

the plastic piece visible from above, has some movement inside the slot in the barrell.

even if the nut is uber tight....there is still some wiggle between the black connector housing and the barrel/bronze coil.

IT IS NORMAL. I dont know how much clearer you want it haha. The connector will always have some play. Even when new. The play in the connector and the nut are not related.

I have mine in my hand right this very moment. The way it's made is the coil is incerted into the sleeve, the sleeve is pressed by a machine to roll over the edge to hold the coil in the sleeve. It has very little movement, but it's not glued in the sleeve....

If the nut isn't tight enough it could vibrate loose and then the coil.. do what it wants.
5 to 10 lbs should be a good snugness.

The connector in the solenoid is what he is asking about. That will move no matter what. He is not talking about the solenoid moving on the IPR shaft, or the nut moving, just the connector.

yes..the connector. it doesn't move backward and forward...just a little slop sideways.

not sure if it was damaged or not.
