Remove ignition switch?

Remove ignition switch?
Can't get the ignition switch to release on the '65.....I push it in, it starts to turn, but no joy. What am I missing? How far does it need to turn to release? Prefer not to break anything.....

Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the left as far as it will go. Then get a straight pin and push it gently into the little tiny hole just beneath the key in the tumbler face and turn the key a little further left until it stops again and the tumbler can be pulled out.
Factory service manual has pictures I can scan if you need. I assume it's the same as '66...
