GEM Module
I just got my truck and during the test drive I failed to put it in 4x4. Well, Not working.
Took it to the Ford Dealership and they called me up saying its going to be about 800 bucks to fix the GEM module.
OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!
But after doing some looking, nothing else seems to be wrong with this truck. NO prob with windows, wipers or anything else. Just 4x4 doesn't engage.... (no dash lights regarding 4x4 ether).
I just hope that they really checked everything over before seteling on this. Fuses and stuff...
Anyone else run into this prob? Just need some rest assurances.

Do some checking of your own.
When you turn the switch to 4H while setting with motor running do you hear a 'clunk'?
If no, can you confirm the transfer case motor runs to it's first position by sound and with some help?
What does the dash light do?
Does 4L work when properly switched to?
Does your windshield leak onto the GEM?
These questions are worth $800 to you if you will take the time to check them out and see if he problem is less than the GEM.
