My dad has a 1967 F-100 that we are going to be adding A/C to. It has a crate 302 in it. Has anyone added one of those Vintage Air after market A/C systems? If so what brand type do you recommend and how hard was the install. For us would probably be making compressor brackets and finding a place in dash to mount evaporator.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
I would suggest going to a JY and get all the engine brackets and pulleys off a donar vehicle the has a/c on it. That way everything will match and belts line up. I've seen numerous previous threads talking about JY's in So. Cal that have bumps.
I used Old Air Products. I like it and the fan blows like crazy. I have also heard good things about classic auto air. Both those companies are here in Ft. Worth where you need to know a thing or two about HOT weather.
I have the A/C motor bracket $30. It uses the old style compressor. works great. I use (www.wheels-of-time.com) in MS. unit I used is 6720-vhy $299, hose kit and drier a1wots $95. condenser 50142h $89. must get extra 90 and straight fitting, and one longer hose. Mount the condenser to the top pass side of the radiator. run the hoses to the driver side. and into the firewall on the driver side. fits perfect. Freezes you out. Check it out I can send you some pictures if it helps.
