B is supposed to be the Clark 4-sp OD, but my truck has the NP-435. I've never found anyone that actually had the Clark. B was also used for the BW T-18/19. Look at these pics.
In '83, 17 was an open diff 2.47 ratio 1/2-ton axle.
how can you tell if it is the clark or not because mine shows the trans b code on the door also. where would i find the tag on the trans if thats how to check?
i havent pulled mine but judgeing by the shifter arm that comes up through the floor it doesnt look like ne of them. does that mean anything or are thy interchangeable??
Ben
It doesn't mean anything. They're not interchangeable, but each maker could have specified a different shape & style for each style of dash. Look at the transmission, and click on those pics to read more about them. They tell about the applications.
hey one quick question
i was told that there might be a problem with my slave cylinder because it is mounted on a slight angle. the guy who was checking out my clutch problem said that might be what it was. any ideas??? my problem is that sometimes after driveing a couple hundred miles on the highway it slips in first gear. doesnt slip bad but enough u can notice it. any thoughts?
thanks, Ben
i dont know why it is mounted like it is. its mounted on a about a 10 - 15 degree angle from the trans. He tried to push it back to strait with a broom handle but it wouldnt move. it looks like it was made that way but that doesnt realy seem right to me. it seems to be working fine again so guess i dont worrie about it huh
Ben
do u have any pictures of the clark 4 spd od trans???

It sounds like the mounting bracket is severly bent. I'd check it out, but NEVER push on the slave cylinder - it'll break off.
I've never seen a pic of the Clark. I've been trying to get people who claim to have it to post a pic, but it always turns out they have some other transmission. One guy on another BBS says he has 2, but no digital camera.
The bracket loosk like it is supposed to be mounted like that. when i looked it didnt appear to be bent either. what all transmissions had overdrive??? the cast numbers on the side of my trans are.....
E4 TR 7006 AA
C2604877
Thats what it looks like anyway. shift pattern is 1 2
