frame width question

Kinda a long shot but does anyone know if the front frame width on a 71 f250 could be the same as an 85 f350? Im looking to do a 2wd all swap to my 4wd 71

It's not the same width. The late model is wider... how do I know? Well, otherwise I wouldda got a front bumpers off of one for my 70 and 73.

Rear cab mounts to front bumper same from 65-79, changed in 80.

If you have the skills and shop you can graft the 71 body to the 85 chassis. I would recommend pulling the cab & front clip together and keeping it that way through the swap.

Im in Wisconsin unfortunately. Apparently the state that scraps all of it's trucks that are pre 2001
