Ok,
So I have a '69 F-250 2wd and have access to a '74 F-250 4x4 (highboy) and I'm thinking of putting the 69 body on the 74 frame. I understand that from the cab forward they are identical, however, I know that the "highboys" had narrower frames in the rear. This does not bother me much.
Now, here's the problem (at least in my mind).....it seems to me that I've read on here that they added about 4 inches in the cab starting in '73, so to me they had to make the bed shorter (same wheelbase), or the frame longer (longer wheelbase).
So has anyone done a swap like this before? Does anyone know the wheelbase of the 73-79 trucks? What are everyone's thoughts?
