I don't know what this is called and need some help with identifying it and its purpose; but it is a metal tube that crosses in front of the top alternator goes down at an angle towards the right, then connects into some housing slightly behind the belt.. If you trace back the other way, it inserts into a hose that runs slightly over the passenger side valve-cover directly into the truck.. I'm not sure what this is or it's purpose, however I notice that it is not seated properly on one end and a little oil was built up around the lip of the unseated end. I assume that it may had to be removed to get to injectors 4&7 2 weeks ago.. It looks like I would have to move the belt out of the way and loosen a screw around one end and push it back in..
It sounds like you are talking about the metal tube that the heater hose connects to.
These are the humble words of MisterCMK sent on the go...
Yeah, it resembles a heater hose, but I wasn't sure.. I wonder if it not being seated properly can cause some exhaust fumes to be pushed up through the heater hose?? I had a faint smell of exhaust yesterday, decided to look around and found this..Thanks

No, it wouldn't have anything to do with exhaust. You need to check your y-pipes, turbo exhaust connections and exhaust manifolds for that.

Ok y-pipes, turbo exhaust connections and exhaust manifolds. Ok got it. Off topic, but I'm not sure if I have a CAT delete, I'll check for that today... But she does blow rich-fumes form the tail pipe, similar in smell as my old 302 F-100. Unbearable. I have to make sure to face the tailpipe from the house to keep fumes from coming in when the garage is open.
