F1 pedal disassembly?

I have a set of F1 pedals I am trying to disassemble for cleaning. There does not appear to be anything holding the large pin that goes thru both pedals to the mount. Before I drive it out with a bigger hammer what holds this thing together?

Gonna use this on my new 31 Roadster project as the 53 F100 is off for paint.

There's a smaller clevis pin that goes thru the main big pin. It's just to the right of the brake pedal, pretty close to the grease fitting. Just tap it out with a punch or a small screw driver. Here's a pic...

(sorry it's sideways...I uploaded it from the mobile FTE app and I can't figure out how to rotate it. So the pin is at the bottom of the pic...)

If I recall, that pin is tapered and has to be driven upward. Driving it downward will only tighten further.

Interesting, it did have a cap end that I thought was the top. Trying to drive it out it would only go a quarter inch then it was stuck. Ended up just drilling it out.

This thread is timely. Mine pedal has a little side to side wobble. Are there replaceable bushings in the sleeve?
thank you,

Doug

Doug I'm not an expert, but I don't *think* there are any bushings in there. As I recall the clutch and brake pedals end as "hinges" --for lack of a better term-- through which a large hollow pin runs (the pin is filled with grease). Then there is a small tapered clevis pin that runs through the lager pin. Hope that helps...and I hope it's correct! Tyler

I sent another message. Both messages show as sent in my PM mail box, not sure what is happening

Tyler is right. There are no bushings there. Most likely your pin is worn and your pedals too. The pin you should replace. They are drilled for grease passages and has a zerk fitting on the tapered pin end. When I took mine apart the grease was Rock hard and I had to drill the passages out. You could have a machine shop bush the pedals with a bronze bushing to restore the fit and as far as that goes it wouldn't be hard to have them make a new pin too.

When you drilled the taper pin out you probably destroyed the taper in the pin and bracket. If you are handy with such things you can ream the assembly to the next size larger taper pin.

I just pulled my pedal assembly apart on my 49 m68 and there were 2 bushings there that I replaced, one on either pedal. I thought they were the same as the f1. Not saying your wrong because I don't know for sure but mine had bushings.
