I have installed my booster@master on my 52 f1 and have noticed that the pin in the pedal assemmbly has some play. I removed the pin and you can see the worn areas on pin. Is this pin avaiable or should I see machine shop to have one made and put a bushing in the pedals. I checked LMC, Macs & F100 central and didnt see a listing. Any ideas??
Did you just install the booster/master cylinder combo?
What kind of wear are you seeing on the pin? Some wear is going to be normal. If it is shaving metal off..that's another story. Original pin?
Yes just installed combo. The pin is origianal. I can move the pedal at top about 1/2'' . I dont have the cab on yet so I dont know if it will hit the floor. This may be normial amount of play but if I could tightn it up some that would be great.
I like things to be nice and tight, smooth,non-binding and easy to use. If it bothers you, and it sounds like it does, and if it has too much side-to-side clearence, where it may hit the body..thats a bad thing, and I would try to remedy.
I'd assume 90% of the wear is in the bushing? I would try JobLot for that, if they don't have it you may need to have one made. If you do, have the machinist make a 1/2-dozen and sell them to us!
Edit -- Dennis Carpenter lists a clutch/brake pedal bushing, P/N B-7526-A, for $5 each, and they are said to be NOS.
