I love my truck but its only a std cab. I have a girlfriend and 2 kids so simple math explains my dilemma. I don't want this post to turn into an advertisement but I feel the obs guys are my best bet. I need an extended or crew cab truck. If you know of someone looking for a trade please let me know. Thanks.

I read your post too quickly (plus, i'm mildly dyslexic) and first thought you said you needed a bigger cab because you have 2 girlfriends!
having now read it correctly, and having 2 kids (and just one wife) of my own, let me lend the advice that you should go straight to a crew cab. don't mess with an extended cab - I had an extended cab first, then upgraded to a CC. yes, it'll work, but that back seat is small and the passenger (gf/wife) will not enjoy having her knees in the dash for long trips!
also - I suggest monitoring craigslist for a good month or two - and a very wide area. when I was looking for my cc, I did that and also monitored the classifieds here on FTE. I find that anyone on here knows the value of their truck and is going to be asking to get paid what its worth. out in the 'real world,' there are lots of folks who don't really know what they have, or don't want to deal with the little problems that crop up on these things. you might have to do some initial maintenance, but with enough patience I bet you can get a great deal on a good truck out there somewhere.
I'm with you^^^^ I had an xcab. It worked but the cc is just an all around better situation! The cc will be a bit more cash and may be harder to find but I would look around real good before settling. Some great deals have been had round here from searching.
Nice OBS cc trucks are hard to find, they didn't sell very well back in the day. Most of the OBS CC trucks are gonna be 2wd, most will be 350 duelleys. That being said, if you want the short bed 4x4 250 CC like what everyone else wants... Just start looking on craigslist and have your money ready when one pops up.
Expect to pay $6-12k depending on miles, condition, and factory options.
I'm not sure how far you are willing to venture for a truck, but there are a LOT of clean crew cab OBS PSD's in my neck of the woods. They are VERY popular in the Northwest. They can get as high as $20-22k for a truck with 40-80k miles. I'd say going rate for a clean truck with 100k on it is $14k +/- (I think I paid $15k for mine two years ago with 103k miles). Also keep in mind that the Oregon trucks almost never have rust issues(no salt). I was just out in PA to buy my 7.3 van and I could not believe the rust in the pickups back there! transport would be 1400-1800 from Portland to PA... unless you're shipping a van that's 3" taller than the 7' height limit, then its 2000
