**** dimensions

Anyone know the dimensions of the factory **** (wiper and headlight) on these trucks? my wiper **** is missing and I cant find any sources to buy a new one.

I am trying to model one up to print out but can't get calipers for a couple of days.

I guess I really only need the shaft size on the switch exactly right.

Will post pictures once I figure it all out.

Here's another place that has *****. They are mounted with a setscrew, so they are somewhat tolerant of the hole being too big in the ****. They have 3/16 ones too.

No kidding. I need a new wiper **** for mine as well, and about fell over when I saw that price.

Here's my question...does anyone know what the actual difference is between the 73-79 wiper ***** ($9.95), the 80-84 ones ($64.95!), and the 85-86 ones ($9.95 again)? They all look pretty much the same in the catalog.

Does anyone have a picture of the 80-84 ****? I just now realized that the headlight and wiper **** have a different face design and the **** I just measured was a headlight.

might still cad it up anyways

The wiper is similar but hexagonal, not round......both are chrome finished.

Aren't the wiper and light ***** different shafts as well?

I know that my '87 has a triangular and a D shaped shaft.

The 73-79 ***** are a bit smaller diameter, but the shafts are the same. Meaning, they will fit fine, just won't look quite right. I have an 80+ wiper switch (intermittant) in the 74, and the original **** fits like it was meant to.
the 85/86 ***** are black, while the 80-84 are chrome. Otherwise, identical....

Yep, same from at least 67 thru 90 (or whatever year they last used the dash mounted wiper switch. The switches themselves may change thru the years, but the shafts remained the same size/shape. Length was a different story, from what I've heard.

My '85 came with the hexagonal ones, which I couldn't stand the look of. Thinking most Ford stuff had the same critical dimensions (shaft size), I got a couple round ones off E-Bay. The wiper **** is from a late 80's Ranger, and the headlight **** is repro unit intended for an early 70's Mustang as I recall. The headlamp **** is actually a little larger in diameter than the wiper ****, but this doesn't bother me. It looks a ton better and didn't cost that much. They both fit perfectly.

Good to know, thanks. I bet a late-model black (cheap) **** with a bit of shiny spray paint applied will look pretty good in my truck.
