I'm thinking of buying F350 4wd auto trans V10 engine to plow snow at 7600 ft elevation . Any no no's or do you think it'll do the job. This will be s back up to my dodge 2500 24v Diesel with an 8.5ft plow.
There's no reason that truck won't do the job just fine. It doesn't take much power to plow snow, but it does take a chassis that's capable of handing the weight of a plow. And the Super Duty trucks do a great job with that.
Look for the snow plow prep package though, and if buying used at the door sticker and find the spring code. If it starts with "X" then it has the snow plow prep package, and the heavier duty springs will carry the plow weight better. Of course there are other things like airbags, timbrens, and spring swaps that can fix that if your truck of choice doesn't have the plow package.
