Obs VC to SD VC

I'm goin to pick up my new VC's with the built in UVCH the SD style. I need to make sure I pick up the right connectors to change from the 2 plug obs style to the single SD style. Anyone know what size the wires are? Just trying to get my ducks in a row before we go to battle. Thanks fellas

The wire stripper I used was 16 gauge.

You need to solder any wire connections you have (as in the outside wiring splicing) to insure you have a good connection.

Well I guess the UVCH isn't one piece with the VC. After looking at it it's would take some serious work to get it to unplug from the VC. So I went ahead and picked up a new GPR while I was there. Turn my key on, tie down a load of old poles on my truck then go in and start it ( took about 2 min or so). Started it up and it was like the truck puked. Couple puffs of smoke. It's about 55 degrees outside. So in this project I will be doin my GPR, gp's, obs to SD VC, and testing injectors, and changing the injector o'rings. Someone remind me of the few things I need to torque down and their torque specs. I was looking buy can't remember where I found them.

The rocker arms (20 ft lbs), injectors(120 inch lbs), and glow plugs(14ft lbs) are what get torqued under the vc's. FWIW, I don't bother to torque glow plugs, but you can if you wish.

When you did your gp's did you have to worry about oil getting down the gp holes and hydro locking? I read that it can happen. I'm hoping to get the gp's changed and VC harness then start it up and check my injectors.

You shouldn't have too much oil to worry about. Some oil collects around the glow plug, you can soak it up with a rag before you pull it.

As long as you said "click!" when you were doing it then it's up to spec.

This means I don't need a torque wrench for my head studs, thanks!
