Hello all I have been working on my truck recently as some of you know I went to check the timing because she was running like crap. I went to turn my distributor to get it to 10 degrees btdc and bam got the holy crap shocked out of me this has never happened before. Any Ideas why? Thanks a bunch. Oh yeah it has been really idiling bad to here latley maybe bad wires or distributor cap wires etc. Let me Know. Thanks again
Yes sir thats kinda what thought. This has never happened before cheap duralast spark plug wires. Barely 3 yrs old I guess its time for new plugs wires and cap & rotor I guess? thanks for the reply Brother.
don't buy duracrap . motocraft and bwd are about the best I have found for stock factory replacement wires. learned my leson with duralast after i had to replace a sensor 3 times in a 4 month time frame.
I got hit once doing that. I never did figure out why but it sure woke me up. I suspect that the spark finds its way out a lot more than we think. I had a turbo Merkur before I bought my truck and the spark would jump to ground at higher rpms and just fall on its face. I def agree that Motocraft is the way to go. I went from duralast to even msd before switching to Motocraft and that fixed my issue.
