I have an 04 6.0. I just got a Scangauge and it is reporting the FICM voltage at 47.5 before starting, then down to 30-36v while running. From what I have read, this means I need to fix/replace the FICM...but what if I don't? Will this cause damage to my injectors? I have no problem with cold or warm starts.
I've been having a small cold injector stiction issue. Could this be related to the low FICM voltage?
If you don't get the FICM repaired you take a chance of the truck just shutting down without warning. Anything below 45V indicated a failing FICM. The stiction problem could definitely be related to the FICM voltage and YES you can damage your injectors. Send it to Ed@Ficmrepair.com and let him work his magic. You'll be surprised at the results.
You should ALSO have BOTH batteries LOAD tested at your local parts store (for free - BTW). Just drive it there, disconnect the ground wire from BOTH batteries and go inside and have them come out and load test 'em.
You should ALSO monitor your FLV and FLP ficm voltages, I had a bad external FICM relay and my INPUT FLV value would drop below 12 and that would mess up my FMP output voltage (9v in => 36v out)
I would also HIGHLY recommend Ed@ficmrepair.com AND I would also suggest you splurge for the atlas40 film tune. Very happy with my throttle response now
