When removing my rear from the 97 Mark V111 the junk yard messed two of the four bolts that hold the subframe for the rear to the frame. Ford part number N805747S100. Bolt - M12x1.75x129.5 Hex FLNG P
Ford has discontinued manufacturing the part but it can still be ordered from them at a whopping $52.12 for two bolts. I don't want to spend $100 on four bolts.
Any suggestions on an alternative source? Nothing coming up at Rock Auto.
I would see if 1/2" bolts will go through the holes. If not I'd drill them out and put 1/2" x 5" grade 8 bolts in. 12 mm is .468" so it's fairly close.
After some thought I will have to check to see that the 1/2 grade eight will go through the holes in the bushings as those are not replaceable. There was a man Doug Fraliegh that made them in his shop but he has passed away.
I do not know what you are doing this on (LWB or SWB) but Dave & I talked about the install instructs he has & altered the dimensions to use for alignment of the rear mount. Since a LWB is longer from the axle centerline to the rear of the rail his dimension will not work on a LWB truck. It may also not work on other makes. I am not positive since it has been so long ago since I put mine in but believe it is something like 14.5" from the axle centerline to the cut into the rail. The info is in my build thread.
I'm doing mine on a '71 F100 Short Bed. I saw the cad drawings and a '64 Comet Dave did the fabrication of some parts for. Also had a conversation about altering the design for my F100. I see that anything is possible with some constructive thought, mock ups and conversation around what we want to accomplish.
