Talking Oh, what a day!

..for hauling all of the things! Friend is renovating his deck/veranda area, needed to pick up a few supplies and front loader/skidsteer thingy he had rented. Welp, his poor Chebby didn't have a hitch rated for the trailer's combined weight (18K)..soo, he gave me a call!

I head over to the rental place where he and the trailer are a-waiting..turns out not only didn't he have a strong enough hitch, but the trailer's a pintle-hitch too! Fortunately I've had a need for a pintle hitch, and had mine in the toolbox under the rear seat. He's also got his bed loaded up with goodies from a Lowes run, so his 1500 was not happy.

Did I mention that the Sooperduty loves to tow? No? IT DOES!! Yanked that trailer to his house, up the back service drive, into his yard, no muss, no fuss! I even got fuel money for my fun! Pics are on his phone, I was busy driving. Rear end does sag some with that weight range; my car hauler w/gear and car is around 11K, and I get no sag with this arrangement. Good choice I made to go from GMC gasser to a SooperDuty diesel! :

He'd love to but can't afford to. The 1500 was his dads, who gave it to him two years ago. It's got a 5.3L in it, don't know what year. Does alright for getting him to his job and getting the groceries, but not for real work.

Oh skid steers are a lot of fun to "play" around in! It's amazing what they can do, kinda like a mini dozer

Everybody at the rental must have gotten a good laugh at that one, but at least they had the brains to stop him. Those tracked skid steers are deceptively heavy. Some of the big ones can push 11k.

There is a rental place close to where I work with those. I so want to spend my lunch hour playing in their yard.

Back in my college days, I used to plow snow with those for extra cash. You can have a lot of fun in them especially on icy/snow covered roads. Plus with a heated cab and radio on the nicer units, they are actually quite comfortable.

They are surprisingly heavy though.
