I've got a Performer 460 intake i'm going to swap onto my stockish 460. The intake has a small crack on the exhaust crossover i'm going to tig weld up, but I don't really care to keep the exhaust crossover. I live in So-Cal so I really don't need to heat the intake all that much.
I know guys stick pieces of sheet metal in the heads to block the crossovers off, could I just tig some small plates in the crossover of the intake while I'm welding up the crack? or will that cause more problems down the road with thermal expansion and stress cracks?
