Yeah, what those other guys said. Lol. Great filter, it's a beast! The only problem I've encountered was Bill whining about his finger and that filter. When he was jacking up my motor during the trans swap, it was real tight on the crossmember. Normal conditions it performs marvelously. Since money is tight right now, I run full synthetic with it, I'm pushing this OCI to 7500. We shal see what the analysis says. Lol
..............Yeah, I was bitching about that filter cause I couldn't let the engine down as far to get it at a good angle to get the trans out. I shoulda just unscrewed it and let all the oil run out in the floor LOL!!!
And my finger was really hurting bad at that point too.......

Well, at least I know your finger was not hurting due to getting it caught in Todd's vice.
So I think I've decided on tires. How do you guys feel about the treadwrights that look like mtrs. 265/75/16s. Load range e. What do y'all think?
You know that Treadwright tires are re-treads, correct? I'm not sure I would go there with my dollars, but I guess it's up to you. They seem to have a not-so-great reputation though, for the price, I can see why they're a tempting proposition. They might be a good alternative for a second set of tires, but I would be a little cautious about putting them on a truck you plan to do towing or hauling with. If you're just looking for some cheap meats to put on and run around in the woods, mud, or snow I guess they wouldn't be a terrible option.
Awesome Truck!!!! That the color I want mine in and plan on doing just that here soon. Thats a steal of a deal too, I paid 4500 for mine and had to put at least that much into it!
I'd bump up to a 285/75/16 if you feel like it, fills out the truck better and really are not much bigger.
Personal favorite on tires are Hankook Dynapros for all around performance. We have a lot of snow here, and not a fan a humming tires that wear fast when towing.
Got my 285/75/16 Cooper Discoverer ATR's for 540 out the door. It was from discount tire, buy 3 get 1 free. They're great so far. Quiet as well. We will see what happens when the snow starts flying. Especially if I don't have my driveshaft cut by then!
Glad to here that. I heard this on one of these sites so I had to bring it up. Have run lots of copper tires in the pass, never really had any bad problems either.
Thanks for the tire advice. I think I'm just going to save up for what I really want.
Couple questions.
1. Unfortunately I wasn't lucky enough to get a truck with cab lights, but for the price, I'm not going to complain. Question is, where could I get stock ones or do y'all have any advice for wiring in new ones?
2. What's the advantage of synthetic oil? I've never run synthetic and have heard mixed things about it.
3. Do you guys have any experience converting to run on used cooking oil? My brother in law owns a chick fil a and said I could take what I wanted of their used oil. Figured it might be worth looking into.
Have to do some fuel system modifications to run straight waste oil. I've heard of guys just using one tank for WVO (waste oil) and the other for diesel and purging the lines every time before they shut off the truck, but what happens that one time you forget?
WVO is much thicker than diesel. If you're cutting it into bio-diesel then it's viable, but not as cost effective.

1. Cab lights? As in the ambers that are lining your roof line? Or interior cab lights. Pacer Performance has been my favorite for fairly priced crisp ambers for your roofline. I am installing them on my trucks as well.
2. Synthetic oil- simply better lubrication, will also assist with cold starts in the winter, longer OCI, and is just the new age of lubrication... when I say new it was not really around back in 94 when these trucks were designed. Rotella T6 has my vote. 100$ for a 5 gallon pale and is just as good as the rest of them.
3. Do some searching about alternative fuels. I have done it, my friends have done it, and none of us would do it again for a prolonged period of time...the cost of injectors from coking injector tips, fuel system, and centrifuge equipment to properly do it are not really worth the cost in the long run...if it were a pre 94 IDI then I wouldn't mind doing it....
