160cc injectors.

So I'm wanting to up the injectors on this beast but I'm wondering

#1 how hard is it

#2 do I HAVE to get my chip burnt with new programs just for my truck to run

#3 what supporting mods should I do for the injectors? HPOP?

#4 how much smoke should I expect?

#5 how is my e4od tranny going to like it?

#6 What should I be looking at spending in total? $1500?

#1 They aren't that hard to do, just read the stickies for a how to do it link.
#2 No, the truck will run but you will not get the benefit of the new injectors until a reburn.
#3 You should do a T500 hpop but a SD one might work.
#4 a stock e40d will not like the II's.
#5 $1235 at Rosewood for II's.

Stage 1 and 2's put out the same amount of fuel but stage II's inject the fuel faster.

Figured it was something like that! Really don't want a crazy amount of power. I just want to put it more on par with the power of my fathers 01 7.3. These 90cc injectors are a joke.

I think I'm gonna go with just normal stage 1s. I was reading that about 350hp is roughly the limit when it comes to having a semi healthy life for your e4od. I'm on the orig. tranny with 154k miles and it's still very healthy and would rather not have to upgrade to say a suncoast or ATS tranny. Anyone else agree with me on this one? Thinking stage ones, running a 80-140hp tune most of the time. NAPA intake and 4 inch straight pipe with a 3 inch down pipe... Maybe make 300-320. Anyone else agree that I'd be on the safe side?

As long as you don't hotrod around, if you're trans is in good shape it will be fine for a while. I ran that combo for a couple years with no problems and about the same mileage. I still have just stage ones and don't plan on ever going bigger. It runs great as is. I did upgrade my trans and converter last winter, I had felt a converter slip once or twice. Actually the trans was still working fine, but I wanted to upgrade it to help hold the power. With all the supporting mods I have with the stage ones I'm not far from 400 hp now. I haven't been on a dyno, but a truck setup just like mine was and had 384hp and 757tq.

If you tow much imo you are going to want to put an intercooler on and a T500 hpop also. If its just a daily driver it will work fine. You won't get full power out of the ones without a bigger hpop and chip reburn.

My truck isn't even a daily driver. I drive a Honda civic during the week so the truck stays covered up for the most part. And I don't pull anything with that truck, I just cruise.

What all supporting mods do you have?

Bigger turbo is the main thing that gives me more hp than you're talking about. Mine sits all week and winter and just tows when its used so we're using them a lot different.
