I have a 91 f150 5.0 i got no vac to my egr. Im sure the solenoid is shot however i dont have much goin to it either so my question is can i run a fresh vac from my tree to the new solenoid and sole the problem.
do you have a vacuum tester? i'd never try to diagnose problems without one, all major auto part stores sell them. test the lines, be sure theyre at fault, and replace as necessary.
yes, you can run a new line from the tree to replace the faulty ones.
Ok so no vac from the solenoid or to the solenoid and i have checked the lines and there good i have also put a very small amount of vac to the egr at idel and it reall smoothed it out
I recently had this same issue! I did the same and ran a new vacuum line to the solenoid. Worked like a champ.
After I tee'd into the line to egr with a vacuum gauge running up to windshield under wiper and watched the vacuum kick in under cruise only after warming up as its suppose to function.
