I've got a 66 f100 with either a 390 or 360 in it. Needs a new carb. Stock 2bbl installed already. I'm new at this so I was wondering if anyone had any insight on a good 2bbl and also a 4 bbl with intake I should look for. My ultimate goal is to have this thing pumping out 500 hp one day thanks guys
Before you invest in that carb, you'd better lock in your plans now. If you want to support 500 hp the carb you'll need won't work with the engine now. Right now a 450 to 500 cfm will work with a set of headers. Your ultimate plan will involve a 770 cfm or larger. Plan ahead now or save a bunch of money, you'll need it.

FE's like to sip their fuel supply no matter if its a 2 bbl or 4 bbl . I have gone the 4 bbl route and back to a motorcraft 2150 2 bbl . Biggy is how much ching you have in your wallet to spend .

Thanks but what about who? Edelbrock or holley or demon or what? I'm looking to spend around 300 or 350 I think
bigger question is what are you going to use this vehicle for ? Work or play ? I have ran the edelbrock performer aluminum intake and a cast iron Ford truck intake with a 600 holley . They both performed about the same with the 4 bbl 600 holley . My opinion of the 600 holley is it liked to draw more air than fuel along with the renew kits don't last very long with this fuel available now days . just my opinion .
66 F100? Likely not a 360 or 390, unless it was transplanted. A 66 would have been a 352, the 360 didn't exist until 68, and the 390 didn't see truck use till then either.

It was a transplant I think. Does have the ranger package if that makes a difference
