I have an '02 X, and the door locks work great until I start the truck up. When it is cold, I can unlock/lock it dozens of times using the keypad, remote fob or the door switch. After I start it though, the locks stop working until the truck cools down. I am clueless to the problem. Is it a relay issue or a programming issue? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
The actuators are terrible in these trucks and require replacement. Not sure how cold weather would make a difference. I know my actuators are intermittent in their operation but have not experienced, or noticed, a difference with temperature.
Do a search for the door lock fix and try it out on one of yours and see if it fixed the problem. All it would cost is a square inch of foil. I did it to my rear hatch.

Just to clarify - I don't believe the keypad or fobs work while the ignition is keyed on. (At least mine don't.) The button on the arm rest still works though. Is yours doing something different?

The key pad works on my ex with ignition on.
*Edit*so does my fob.

Interesting. The aftermarket remote I have works when the engine is on, but I'm pretty sure that is because they wired it into the door switch. I'll have to check again, but I'm pretty sure the factory fob and keypad don't work if the engine is on. I assumed that was by design.

I use that function quite a bit, usually if I'm getting out of the ex for a quick stop I leave it on. I get out close door lock it with last buttons on my return hit my code and it opens.
To clarify, my actuators are working on every door. I can cycle them open and closed a hundred times before starting the rig. After I start it however, there is no more signal to actuate them from the armrest door lock switches. This is why I was under the impression it was a relay problem.
