If it's not in the wiring, check your oil. I know mine run low on me a few months ago and it developed a wicked miss. It would choke out, lose all power and throw white smoke like it was going out of style. I guess my theory is irrelevant since you're getting codes. But...it's just a thought. Wonder if it could be CPS related also? Just spit-balling, here. Good luck!

If I knew of someone with a similar truck I would swap it out as a test.
I think you need another IDM to try. It would be nice if you could just try one before you buy one. Do you know anyone with a similar truck? The IDM from ANY 7.3 Powerstroke will work.

x2 on the CPS when i first initially started reading... does the truck start fine and run fine before it gets up to operating temperature? Or is the missing immediate after starts?

Well the new IDM didn't do the job so I am out of ideas. I hate to throw in the towel but I am out of ideas and I guess you all are to. Check back and I will post in detail what actually repaired the truck so we can share it with the next guy!!
