Take the muffler off go for a wot run with the passenger window down and tell me you're not happier. I personally hate the sound of my truck crusing down the road or sitting at an idle, it annoys the snot out of me! BUT.... Under wot there is no sweeter sound that can hit my ears and make me grin so I deal with the part I hate because at 32 psi of boost the exhaust is the sweetest thing ever.
In straight piped on stock exhaust on a 6673 and mines not loud ( relatively speaking) at all. The engine noise from under the hood is still far and away the dominate noise.
But it does sound pretty sweet passanger side window down at part throttle under a load.
Straight-piped stock and the engine is louder? You have something going on under the hood... like an exhaust leak or maybe in need of fuel additive or better oil.

Low mileage stripper model (not much sound insulation) so yeah the engine is loud as ****. A 100-1 shot of 2stroke oil does knock back the higher pitched injector noise a slightly noticeable amount. But my exhaust isn't nearly as loud as you'd expect.

Great power
20+ mpg every time
No smoke in the <100hp tunes
If you're standing towards the passangers side rear then yeah the exhaust is loud.
From the drivers seat it's all under hood without the window down.

Uuhhh.... I know from experience a stripped-down truck with a clutch can eek out 20 MPG on long highway runs, but non-highway driving kills that and tunes always make a bigger liar out of an overhead (assuming you have one). Is that economy hand-calculated?
The 6637 makes a ton of noise, so that could be one of your biggest sinners. I have the Lariat trim, so the cab noise is really subdued... putting me in a position where it's hard for me to compare our two trucks.
You are a prime candidate for pulling the interior out and installing sound-deadening matting.

Hand calculated every single week on the same pump. I don't even have door cubby pockets and my seat is grey vinyl ..you really think I have an overhead trip computer?
Here's a bunch of my most recent fill calculations. The low numbers are towing my pontoon boat.
Now I do seldom run the speed limit on my commute because of construction and the time. Usually I'm rolling along at 60 or so at just shy of 2k rpm.
If I hold a gear at 1500 or above at lower speeds you start to hear the exhaust some. But in top gear at hwy speeds you mostly just hear the motor and copious road noise
