I put these updated seals in my 05 F250 when I was doing ball joints, so far so good.
You need to remove: Hub, brake caliper, caliper mount, rotor, hub/bearing unit, and axle.
Hardest part IMO is removing the snap ring, you will need a good pair of snap ring pliers. You will also need to remove and install the knuckle seal. There is a tool for installing it back correctly.
I have replaced mine once per year, even the updated ones. Poor design, but I also run 4wd in January's freezing temps and that's when they seem to come apart. I've even greased the inside perimeter and contact area on the shaft and it still happens.......I've just made them part of my regular spring cleaning.

You have issues with the ones that pound into the axle tube?
Did you clean the axle shaft when you installed them?
These are the humble words of MisterCMK sent on the go...
Had the dealer do it the first few times when it was covered under warranty, now I do it myself. Yes I clean the axle shaft and give the inside of the tubes a bath in FluidFilm. We have seen 20 and 30 below 0 during our 2 week hunting season, breaking trail in 4'+ deep snow it just tears those seals up. Douching the whole undercarriage with FluidFilm seems to help prolong but the ice buildup still has its downfall, rubber doesn't like to move with it being that cold.
