More and more parts are being reproed all the time for these trucks. Stuff that you couldnt find 2 years ago is being carried by 4-5 different places now. I would imagine that this will be the case more and more as these trucks get more popular and NOS parts get harder to find. People are always looking to make a buck.
As far wing vent frames, they are easy to repair if rusted out on the inside. A piece of 16g steel, a small copper plate, Mig welder, and a grinder. Much cheaper than $100 a side.
The originals used a threaded stud with an L shape bent toward the rear and riveted into the channel.
The repops use a T shaped stud so it goes both forward and backward in the channel and has rivets toward the rear and toward the front. It seems like that would cut down on the flex quite a bit. I have both NOS and DC repops and can take pictures later if anyone is interested in seeing the differences. In this case I think I'd give the nod to the repops as far as durability goes.
