i remember before the crash my uncle took out the heater for some reason. the truck was loud. i'm not sure if it actually had a muffler or if a cheery bomb type of muffler was installed. i've heard it's been pretty much stripped. but i'm hoping at least the cab, bed and driver side doors are still there. i'm hoping to be able to get a trailer, to be able to bring what's left home. but if i can't i hope to save everthing possible, for the new version. along with taking as many photos as possible. the ford has been in dry climate, so hopefully all will be well

TDY (Temporary Duty) is extra pay you get when the Army sends you elsewhere other than your normal duty station to work. I read Fort Bragg and think North Carolina.

My bad and its all good, learn all kinds of stuff on FTE.

well it turned out the ford was built in december of 1972. the crash was worse than i thought, it rolled down a 300 foot embankment. so i was able to save one tail light and some screws. i did manage to get the data plate off the door. i was wondering if it would be okay to post the number, so i could find out what the engine was? i was able to answer most of my questions except for the seat belts and the color of the lettering on the tailgate. for laying out in the brush for nearly 30 years the factory undercoat help up well

Yeah I'd like to see a picture too. Do you know the story behind the crash?

from what i understand the ford was overloaded with firework when it was being driven back to the main house. on the section of road there is a dip and when the ford came out it somehow veried right. i don't understand how or why the driver was not paying attention and he litterally just drove it across the hillside until the truck capsized. rolling what was guessed 7 times before hitting a tree and dropping another 10 foot straight down. comeing to rest on the passenger side. i did take cell phone photos of the truck after it was pulled out of the creek. i do have current photos that i sent off to be processed. i had hoped it would had been in slightly better shape. but i did manage to save some taillight screws and the metal half of the driver side tail light.
