Anchor engine mounts not working out

I had bad mounts. When I mean bad the drivers side was completely separated and the passenger side was flattend and separating as well. So, I took on the task of installing new mounts. I had to enlongate the holes on the passenger side to get it all to line up and the drivers side, the easiest to get to just flat out no matter what I did, all the leverage with boards everything was just the width of the bolt off. I guess I have to open up those holes as well but then the bolt at the top won't have enough around it to get the socket around it. What a adventure this has been. Anyone have any tips that maybe I am overlooking? This is on my 68 F-100.

Did you losen your transmission mount, when I threw my left mount and punched a hole through my radiator I had to break the transmission mount loose allowing me to slide it back enough to sink the holes. Also replace the transmission mount while your at it.
