My friend recently bought an 06 F350 6.0 and he has immediately started having problems with it. The 3rd day of ownership the stc fitting blew and dealership fixed that but didnt want to. They did not provide a receipt for the work so he doesnt know if the standpipes and dummy plugs were updated but I myself doubt they were as they told him they fixed what was broken and all else checked ok and didnt need replacing. They were originally supposed to fix some minor stuff like the door panel was coming loose and another small issue and now they have told him they would fix it at a cost to him because they were already loosing money on the truck and would not cover anything else. Now hes seeing EGT's as high as 1400 while barely going 50 mph unloaded so Im going to hook AE up to it this Sunday to see what I can find. They havent provided an oasis and are just being standoffish with this truck so wondering if I could get someone to run one so we can see if this truck has been a problem. Here is the vin: 1FTWX33P86EB75818. I hope there isnt anything seriously wrong with the truck but its clear he has no dealership backing on this. Now I understand buying a vehicle without a warranty but I also expect it to run for longer than 3 days. Thanks for the help guys.
Just because something is not listed in an oasis report is not
proof that is has not been done. It could of been done outside of Ford.
I agree if your seeing excessing EGTs you need to dig into it.
Could be a bad injector dumping in too much fuel.
Also check that the exhaust if not plugged somewhere so
the heat can be carried away.
