order I used oh boy... I did like criss cross and random. Started at like 44lbs, Then 65, Then 75, And like a little past, On each one the same distance(I did that because ive seen people on youtube and other engine rebuilds doing it)
They don't check for idiocy before selling people a phone with a video camera, nor when they apply for a youtube account. I firmly believe many of the people that post those things either cannot or will not read. You need to get a factory shop manual and go by it, and it alone. I think you've just learned the hard way.
Probably not. But, it won't hurt to try. My guess is that the rough running while cold is caused by coolant entering the cylinder in sufficient quantities to kill combustion. Maybe when it gets warm expansion causes things to seal better and you have less of a leak. Or, just the extra heat causes the coolant to vaporize and not cause problems. Or both. Or neither. But, it won't hurt to try starting over on the torque sequence, although I think you should drain the coolant before doing it or you may fill a cylinder and hydro lock.
Alright, I'll retry the sequence, drain coolant, see what happens. It's still a little rough after he timed it, so the gaskets not sealing properly, probably. But we are getting there
I got it running decent, but I need to still fix the gasket, I haven't messed with it and might not till spring, the coolant is staying out of my oil at lest so im ok with it for now.
Beings that the head gasket set from oreilly's is $47.95 and getting your head resurfaced might be $100, probably cheaper, don't know why your just not fixing the problem before it gets worse.
That's a pretty good reason I reckon....sometimes people put off doing things for no good reason and it ends up costing a lot more in the long run, i may or may not have been one of those guys......hopefully u can get it fixed soon. good luck to ya
I did a compression test today. its leaking coolant out the front of the engine, but it says the backs leaking/ worn, IDK what do you guys think. its ether get the head machined and redo gasket, or get a whole new engine for 200 at the junkyard.(thats rebuilt and purrs like a kitten, when it was parked)
Is the center column dry? And the right column when you put oil in? If so I'm really confused as I've never see a cylinder's pressure go down when oil was added.

yes, you are correct, and i'm confused as F**K. 2 of them stayed the same, and #6 went up, maybe I didn't have it tight enough in?
I did them in 1,2,6,5,4,3 and that was just on the wet test, on the other i did them 1-6. I did it that way if I ran out of oil, I wanted to make sure I got the back ones checked, I don think the battery was running low, its brand new, lol, cranked the same speed the whole time
