Found a 2007 F-350 with low miles. It is at an out of town dealership. What do I need to look for to spot a problem. I know the EGR delete solves a lot of problems and that is a must, but it only has 55K miles on it. Any advise will be appreciated.
since you mentioned egr delete..guess that you are talking a deisel model. Google around a bit...seems like some are problem free and others never get the gremlins out.

When test driving, see if they have equipment to test the eot (engine oil temp) as compared to ect's ( engine coolant temps).
If your oil cooler is still good, both temps should shown between 8-10 degrees max when not towing.
Check for OBD codes with tool. I just had to have my turbo unison ring and vanes cleaned due to a P0299 underboost code.
If you are going to do a delete, you should change the oil cooler anyways.
Ck maint records. A big deal, oil, tranny, fuel filters, etc as this will tell a ton due to required maint on these 6.0's.
