78 f350 brake booster

After a lot of searching and a lot of dead ends, worked some magic with Amazon and bought the booster. Only one available, was listed for approx 10 minutes when I bought. Industry part number 54-73311 has been rather elusive and, the parts house(s) don’t offer rebuild and return anymore. $87 through Amazon vs$108-200 when available. Arrives tomorrow, here’s to hoping they sent what’s listed.

Years ago when I worked on these trucks I hated those hod latches.
they were always hard to pull and awkward to me for some reason.

I agree PITA, I would not own a truck with one. If I got a truck with one, I would take it off ASAP. There are A LOT of FTE folks that want them though.

I imagine if you live in a rough area, it would be a good idea. My dad's boss got his carb and distributor stolen from his '79 Bronco last year. The lock would have prevented that.

That just blows my mind, I guess I live in a "sheltered" / well armed area and free from all that kinda BS.

Some people will always look for an easy way to make someone else's day bad.

The first time I saw one was back in '79 on a new truck and I thought to myself, "what in the hell is under the hood that someone would want to steal?"
