Guys I need to know what fuel pump assembly I need for my 94 Ford F350 7.5 460,its the center tank that needs the pump,I think its a 19 gallon tank, the guy I bought the truck from replaced it with the wrong one,so the gauge inside my truck goes WAY past full when I fill the tank up.The pump itself is fine,so I think he put a 16 gallon sender in the 19 gallon tank. Please help!
The sender is separate from the pump and screws on to the reservoir.
Sounds like it is working right.
If he did what you say it will read empty before it should.
If it reads full all the time then the wire going to that tank has high resistance.
It could be the selector switch, the wire from the selector switch to the sender or the stand tube has lost its ground through the rivet in the top plate.
Note the wiper in the sender may have lost contact with the resistance element.
In other words the resistance element may have been covered with a film from the gasoline if the the truck is not used much.
