What does the original 66 tailgate look like. Mine has had work done to it and is primer gray. I have no idea what the Ford lettering should look like. It has no raised places or anything? It's smooth. Please gimme some clues. Thanks!
1966: Three different pickup beds - Three different tailgates.
From the pics you posted: 1966 F100 2WD Styleside.
C4TZ-9940700-A .. Styleside Tailgate - 1964/66 F100/250 2WD & 1966 F100 4WD - Has large F O R D block letters.
Be aware: C7TZ-9940700-A .. 1967/72 F100/350 Styleside tailgate looks similar to C4TZ .. uses the same mounting hardware, but has smaller F O R D letters surrounded by a raised ovate scallop line.
I'd post pics, but: There is no picture that clears defines either of these tailgates in the 1964/72 Ford truck parts catalog.
Thanks would those just be painted on then? There is no raised anything on the tailgate. I don't see anyway to mount any on unless they filled the holes when they did the body work?
