Tailgate?
So I,m looking at a tailgate, it is advertised as a 72 model but the seller doesn,t really know the year. Are the bump side gates different than the dent side gates. Could it work on a dent side?

Pretty sure it will. I think i remember seeing a truck around here with a bump side tailgate on it. Have you checked Craigslist?? There's a guy close to me (Marysville, WA) selling one off a dent for 140 US. I think he's higher than a kite. For that kind of money it better be in perfect condition. Just my opinion on that.

A Dentside tailgate will work on a Bump but the body lines don't line up. There are pics at Fordification.com... got to the tech section.

D7TZ-9940700-A (replaced D3TZ-9940700-A) .. Styleside Tailgate = 1973/79 F100/350.
The only parts that are the same for these two tailgates are the tailgate supports (aka scissors). EVERYTHING else is different!
