2000 Expedition Transmission problems
I have a 2000 Expedition 4x4 with a peculiar transmission problem. I am losing transmission fluid but I have no sign of a leak. The shifter handle is flashing and the trans won't shift correctly. Makes a whirring noise. I thought it could be the vacuum modulator as the symptoms seem right. Now I'm told there isn't and wasn't one since 1994. Any ideas?

The seal between the tranny and transfer case is leaking. The tranny fluid is going into the transfer case and of course overfilling it.

There are no sensors on the differential other than the rear wheel ABS sensor.
