2000 EB Expy with major transmission issues
Ok, I need some info please. I have a 2000 EB 5.4L 4x4, w/ 168000 miles Two days ago I turned the truck on and when I put it in reverse and drive there was a a loud whine sound. No sound in park or neutral. Also sounded a bit like metal as well. Checked fluid and it was at the bottom of the HOT reading. I added fluid to get it to the correct level. Worked fine, with an occasional whime and a shudder for about 24 hours. Today, after stopping at the gas station, Car will not move unless at 4000 rpm and the very little. Checked fluid again, appears to be low again. Have not added anymore or moved it, but need to Any ideas as to what it could be and costs. Thanks in advance for any help.

If you are losing fluid, check the fluid level in your transfer case. It may sound goofy, but that is where it is probably going. The seal between the tranny and t-case can leak causing your t-case to become overfull and the tranny to be not full enough.
