roller lifters what is the advantage
what is the advantage to roller go with roller rocker arms instead thinking about rebuiling my 460. Would like to get ride of as much friction in the motor as possible to improve power and mpg(like the possible with these engines). this will be my daily driver in town. I don't do any towning or drag racing with this truck. Just would like more power without drop mpg. And would a higher voltage spark be any benifit? Just got an edlebrock carb 600cfm.
thanks

For most motors, adding roller rocker won't show any gains that you will be able to feel by the seat of your pants. As you mentioned, the reduction in friction.
The roller lifters allow a more aggressive cam lobe than a flat tappet (solid or hydraulic) cam. This can be beneficial whether it is for performance or torque, but the cost is almost prohibitive for most people. A good roller cam set up will run well over $600 by the time you add up the cost of the cam, lifter and valve springs.
For most people and their truck/car needs of torque and power, you can't beat the price of a flat tappet cam.

As Larry stated, with the investment required there's virtually no performance or engine life advantages to roller anything in an engine in normal use designed for operation under 5000rpm.
Spend your money on a set of headers and good exhaust system, Performer manifold and 750cfm carb. On a 460 you won't see any difference in gas mileage from a 600cfm and the 750 will provide power to the top of your rpm range (5000 with a cam change, 4500 with stock cam) while the Performer is more efficient than the stock manifold from 3000rpm up to 5000-5500rpm.
