I just acquired a '97 f150 4.6 2wd. The previous owner said it was involved in a wreck. A car ran a red light and it a car that hit the truck. The frame is slightly bent on the drivers side in front of the control arm.
Any way, the truck has a lot of sway going around corners/curves. It is very loose. Is it supposed to be like that?
You're joking, right? That sway bar is doing absolutely nothing as is.
Looks like you are missing a bush on the top, as well as the end link not being connected to the lower arm. Everything should be tight, from the sway bar bushing to the end links.
I would take the front end apart and rebuild it completely after verifying the frame has been straightened properly.

x2. It looks like the bottom bushing on the end link got knocked down through the mounting point on the control arm. I have the same truck, just replaced mine.
