I was under my truck today trying to find a sticker with my build date on it which I never found. But I noticed what look like oil not on the pan or bolt but above it and more towards the front. What could this be from.
I can't be certain, but when I was looking at the 7.3, the build date was on a sticker in the driver's door pillar near the bottom under the striker. I'm heading out to look at my truck. Be right back.
edit: Yep, mine is at the bottom, between the two doors on the crew cab.

The engine will have a separate build date sticker.
The engine build date will be either on a sticker located on the FICM ( if it is the original FICM ) or stamped into the back of the drivers side cylinder head is an engine serial number ( provided that it is the original cylinder head )
How will I be able to tell the date by the serial number. I saw the one on the door it said 09/03. I looked at the film but the sticker that was there is no longer there. Any idea on the oil looking stuff under the truck. Is that normal
