I experienced severe steering vibration after hitting a chuck hole with one wheel, almost ripping the wheel out of my grip. I took the turck into the dealership and was informed that the steering stabliizer was at fault. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Might help if we knew what truck and equipment you had.
Sounds like it might be death wobble. Do an advanced search for "death wobble" and you will have plenty of reading for a while.
If I'm right, chances are a steering stabilizer won't completely fix it, but that's a cheap and easy place to start. Why didn't you let them replace it?
The truck is a 2011 F450 Crew Cab XLT Trim, Has 30K miles. Steering Stablizer was replaced but I am concerned as I tow a 15K Lb fifth wheel and do not want to experience the problem again.
after checking all possible parts for play and not finding any...I did the rancho stabilizer and 9000 shock upgrade and death wobble is cone. had to use the max settings on the 9000's. On my truck, there was on one stock stabilizer. the rancho stabilizers I used was the dual kit.
