I can agree with the reasoning to buy the cheaper remanufactured boxes - nothing wrong with that. Since I can afford it, I always go out of my way to support US made products even if the cost is higher. Where something is made is a very big factor in my decisions as to how I spend my hard earned dollars.
I will have to admit, they are painted red. That is worth a couple hundred .
just think how much they would be if you could pick you color or maybe pay a extra 20$ and they could take it to the bad part of town to get some pinstriping.
Just got my Ex back from my shop and WOW, the difference it night and day with the Redhead. Even my friend who runs the shop was impressed, and he said a lot of times when replacing gear boxes on Super Duty plow trucks, the aftermarket gear boxes don't feel much tighter than the worn out boxes coming out of the trucks. It seriously steers like a car now, and the dead spot that drove me nuts is now gone!
