Good news! I went by a vintage car Junkyard about 30 miles up the road and was looking for any Y-block stuff. The guy that ran the yard was great. We looked at about 4 different cars with no luck. He said "there is one more spot it could be..." And we walked back to a 1958 Pontiac. He unlatched the trunk and bam, there it was. An "EBV 6312-A"
$40 later I was in business.
You can still see faintly the original yellow paint. Y-Blocks were painted so many different colors....

I have seen that before. This was yellow, and I thought I remembered that only the Lincolns were yellow, guess not. I think the Mercs were a seafoam green and the fords were a orangy-red. Who knows.
For Anyone that was curious, the balancer that was on my 1958 block is off of a 1963 Something...
I don't know what it came out of, it was in the truck when I bought it in Jan 1978.
There is a bushing [ I'd call it] that goes on the crankshaft that the front oil seal rides on it. If your new pulley is longer, you might have to get rid of that bushing to make it fit. Provided your new pulley is the same diameter as the bushing. Dennis
