just an update from the email i sent to the place i bought the above jack from. i got the reply back that said, "we dont have any specs on that item, we only sell them. but if you have any other questions, we are just a few clicks away". really...ahh, no thanks.
so i'm just going to run with the advise i received in this thread.
The advice and knowledge on this site is great. Rv_tech helped me on my trailer 7 pin wiring. I need to buy one of those jacks!! My crank jack on my big trailer is gettin old. I assume there is quality electric jacks and crappy ones out there? Get what you paid for type of thing?

Usually, but they are pretty basic. Just go heavier duty than what you need to lift weight wise and you should be fine. I really don't see many problems with them until they get some age on them or someone keeps lifting more than their design rating.

I agree absolutely!! IMHO you cannot be too careful if you are wiring or lifting anything. If you try to skimp in either case, you can injure yourself or someone else. Fires and crushing injuries are potentially devastating. Rant completed.
another update,
finally got around to trying to get power from the 12v supply in the 7 pin plug on the truck to operate my new power tongue jack.
well it lights up the 2 little lights on the side of the jack just fine. but as soon as you try to engage the jack up or down nothing happens and the little lights go off until you release the switch.
so i guess i will just rob a battery from my camper until spring since i wont be using it anyway and put it in the tool trailer. that way it will still get some charging when i use it.
now my question is, i need to use that same 12v hot wire as my charge wire correct? thanks everyone..
