Why do I keep seeing negativity?

Just curious if people are really dissatisfied with their 6.2. I'm head over heals for my loaded 13 lariat. CC FX4 4.30's
I sense no lack of power I've been reading about. I pull a 50' gooseneck weekly. Loaded to the tune of around 18k lbs. It does the job like its nothing I run only E85 and unloaded on the expressway I get around mpg loaded with an 18k lb load on E85 I average 8.3mpg at 70mph. Where I'm at in Chicago 87 is 3.22 and I'm paying 2.11 for E85. Diesel is 3.89. There is no way anyone could get me out of my 6.2 and get me into a diesel. Cheap oil changes no DEF way cheaper fuel and it just works and works and comes back for more everytime. I'm just kind of curious what everyone else's complaints are??? Please share!

I am with you on that....I dont know either......I think the 6.2 is great for what it is and I think the people that expect diesel power from it and complain about it are comparing apples to oranges.

I am very happy with my truck from the power to the ride and the fit and finish. I think Ford did a great job!

Oh and all I have ever owned was GM and Chevrolet trucks prior...this is my first Ford and I am very happy!

I was thinking the same thing. Of course it won't have the power of a diesel but you have to be realistic with yourself. The diesel is an additional 8k plus diesel fuel is 1.78 more per gallon than the E85 I run plus add .28 cents per gallon for def. Hands down best truck I've a owned.

I still want a diesel but its a waste of money for me to have..... I ran e-85 in my truck it runs better but the cost difference did not equal the mpg drop so I went back to 87

I felt the truck actually performs better than what I was expecting. I don't expect a big heavy truck with a gas engine to be a monster but I am pleasantly surprised.

I have a smile on my when I pull into my driveway and see it sitting there and more so when I am behind the wheel. I am very happy with the truck.... The only big item my Lariat does not have is nav but I was not overly impressed with the stock unit and I would only use it 10% of the time. I did not feel it was worth it to me to order a truck with one. Plus I found my truck on the lot at the end of the month when the dealer was making room for the '13's so I got a great deal!

Most of the people that complain about the 6.2L came from the 6.8L V10 (or a diesel). The V10 (and the diesels) have/had a bit more torque, which makes for a slightly better driving experience.

On the other side of the coin though, the 6.2L definitely seems to average better fuel economy than the 6.8L.

For me, the diesel was/is my only option, as the 6.2L SRW wasn't rated to tow enough for my trailers. 600/6000 conventional for the 6.2L vs 850/8500 conventional for the SRW diesel.

I'm diggin my '13 6.2L. Got one of the first Lariats off the line last Dec.
I would like to get in touch with 5 star and see what a performance tune would do to it, but I've just turned 10K miles, so I'd like to make sure all is really good, before I void the warranty.

Folks can say what they want, but the 6.2 & a 4.30 gear is just right for my tow/haul/carry needs.

Rock on

Petersen's 4wheel gave it good remarks in most recent issue. They used it to tow there ultimate super dirty which weighed in at 9300lbs across the United States for there ultimate adventure. They said while it lacked the grunt of the diesel it never hesitated or faulted to pull there load through the mountains or anywhere else. Just gotta let it sing. They praised it very highly. Looks like ford did it pretty good.

I was seriously thinking about getting a 48' gooser. But I wasn't sure if my 6.2L could pull it. I've never pulled that heavy before. Do you have a air bags and such on your truck?

I think as someone mentioned it is the people who went from a diesel to the 6.2. I have both a V10 and 6.2 and not a ton of difference, though now mine is supercharged.

I'm happy with my 6.2, I'm still learning how to drive it under load with varying road, elevation and grades but it's doing everything and more that my 2V V10 did.

A lot of the Raptor guys have them. You can even purchase one sort of factory from the dealer that Roush has partnered with Ford on.

I installed the ProCharger myself and then took down to Livernois to make the dyno tune. Power is amazing but with traction control and all of the Nani's on the truck it is drivable on the street without any problems.

I'm very happy with my 6.2. The most weight I've pulled has been 8K. Pulled it like I thought it should. No complaints.

Gets good mileage if you keep your foot out of it too.
