The Coopers are made in the USA which is difficult to find. Oh, and about the comment on the Michelien's dry rotting, I would have never believed it as every knows they are good tires, but I have some 2.5 year old 20's that look horrible! I feel I need to replace them before the tread is even close to being worn out....don't know what that's all about! The vehicle is always parked outside though.
You sure about that? Cooper tire was just bought by an Indian company. But even before that there were a lot of Cooper branded tires that came from China.
I do a lot of towing, 15k + and lots of dd and hwy driving. I have 50k on my toyo open country m/t's I'm gonna run them about 5k more.
I really like them, They are aggressive but ride really nice, and are fairly quiet. Handle GOOD on wet roads for a mud tire. They are a 10ply load E tire. Im running a 315 75 16.
They are a mud tire so they are not going to be super quiet or ride super smooth. They look great and last a while.
The KEY to keeping a tire in good shape is rotate every 5k and keep your drive components " ball joints, shocks, bushings, wheel bearings etc" in check !
But I'm going to be getting some new shoes here soon. Think I'm going with the Toyo Open Country A/T 2. I want a smoother ride and longer life. They look to have good grip for the slick stuff too. Thats what I'm switching too
X2 I run the Toyo Open Country A/T 2 in a 285 75 16 and hit 50K miles on them....rotate every 5K miles and they are all wearing super even.
I run Hankook dynapro at on mine have now for three years and love them. I will never buy another tire again. Great traction and awesome wear. The first set I got 65,000 out of them and this set has 58,000 and still doing great. I run 285 75 16 plow snow and haul medium loads year round. As a contractor I run a crap load of miles and do not want to worry about tires. BTW not one flat or blow out on either set.
I want to go with a bigger rim and tire size, maybe 18 by 9 with some different tires but my stock rims now with 285 Michelins I've never been happier. 62,000 miles and counting and just an awesomely balanced tire from the factory, well worth the extra spent.
